Summary
DMC is currently looking for an IT Helpdesk Support (on-site) individual to join our team based in our Sudbury office on a 6-month contract, with the potential of an extension at the end of the term. The IT Helpdesk Support position will be based in Sudbury, participate in developing, forming, and following information systems policies and guidelines to ensure our IT systems run smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Support our desktop products and services on an ongoing basis, including mobile platforms and other peripherals; and
Provide input into the evaluation of products to improve the IT infrastructure and the desktop experience.
Support remote users and multiple office or site locations as required in Sudbury area – driving might be required.
Set up and configure desktop and notebook PCs, mobile devices, and peripherals.
Ensure new hires have required system access, including user accounts, printers, VPN, and mobile devices prior to start dates.
Maintain accuracy of access and device assignments.
Acts as support in setting up and provisioning Desktop and Notebook PC's and other related systems, as well as mobile devices (e.g. iPhone, and Windows and iOS Tablets).
Ensures that account creation, printer(s), mobile devices, and VPN access are set up for new hires before their start date.
Supports DMC staff with IT issues and liaise with 3rd party technical support.
Hands on support of the user desktop environment including Windows 11, Microsoft Office 365, MS Teams, SharePoint, Autodesk Products etc.
Works with Active Directory, MS 365 admin center, MS Exchange Online etc.
Work and supports ticketing system such as HelpDesk Plus or ServiceNow.
Performs system backup, monitoring, and recovery. Participate in disaster recovery testing procedures, using various backup systems.
Participates in adhering to and developing corporate standards for selection of hardware and software to optimize standardization, efficiency and performance.
Provides some on-the-job training to new and existing employees.
Work with the IT Manager to define project and operational needs and prioritize accordingly.
Work with IT staff at Corporate and Operations sites to implement, enhance and monitor corporate IT services and initiatives (i.e. email, MS teams, desktop management, etc.).
Qualifications
Formal Education in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a business-related field is preferred.
3-5 years IT experience working in an enterprise environment with an emphasis in user support and infrastructure administration (physical and virtual).
Strong oral and written communication and customer service skills.
A highly organized individual and strong documentation skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding the information processed, stored or accessed on the network.
Able to problem solve and quickly provide a "Plan B" alternate solution when circumstances require it.
Ability to prioritize tasks in a busy, fast paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to system support.
Experience with the following systems/processes:
Microsoft Windows Servers (2016 R2 and above), and desktop clients (Windows 10 and 11).
Administration of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Exchange, MS Teams, client FortiClient VPN, and patch management.
SharePoint design and administration.
Securing client end-point devices, using anti-virus and malware tools, personal firewall and data encryption.
Proficient at using desktop management tools, such as imaging and hardware/software inventory management.
Use of remote access tools such as TeamViewer.
Knowledge of Fortinet Firewalls and Switches would be an asset.
Knowledge of SQL server, VMware, Veeam Backup would be an asset.
Additional Information
Hourly Range is expected to be between: $24.00 to $31.00 per hour
