Do you look at HR systems and immediately see both the problem and the path forward? Are you the person others rely on to turn complex business requirements, union agreements, and competing priorities into clear decisions and scalable solutions?
At Interfor, we're evolving how HR technology supports our people and our business, and we're looking for a HRIS professional who brings strong judgment, technical depth, and collaborative leadership to that work.
In This Role, You'll
Lead with Insight & Judgment – Analyze business needs, labour agreements, and system capabilities to make informed recommendations that balance compliance, usability, and long‑term strategy.
Translate Complexity with Confidence – Interpret CBAs, policies, and operational realities into precise technical configurations, and explain them in a simple, clear, and concise manner to non‑technical stakeholders.
Own & Deliver HR Technology Initiatives – Plan and drive enhancements, integrations, and upgrades from concept through delivery, managing scope, risks, timelines, and stakeholders.
Design Systems That Work at Scale – Optimize and integrate platforms like Oracle, Workday, UKG Pro & Workforce Management, ADP Workforce Now, and Cornerstone OnDemand to reduce manual effort, improve data integrity, and support growth.
Build Through Collaboration – Partner closely with HR, IT, Finance, vendors, and business leaders, believing that the best solutions are built together, not in silos.
As an HRIS Specialist at Interfor, you won't just support systems, you'll shape direction, lead initiatives, and influence how HR technology enables the organization.
Growth Opportunities
Skills
At Interfor, growth is intentional and transparent. This role sits within a competency‑based progression model spanning HRIS Specialist I through III, followed by two pathways, technical mastery or leadership, so you can build a future that aligns with your strengths and goals. Progression and salary growth are based on clearly defined Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) across three core pillars:
Leadership – decision‑making, ownership, collaboration, and influence.
Technical Expertise – HR systems mastery, integrations, data quality, and solution design.
Business Acumen – translating operational needs, CBAs, and strategy into effective system outcomes.
The successful candidate will be job‑matched to the appropriate level based on demonstrated KSAs, overall experience, and role scope. While salary expectations are considered, final placement and compensation are aligned to established job bands and internal equity. Team members are actively supported to grow within the progression model.
What We Offer
Interfor offers a competitive salary based on experience, KSAs, and qualifications, with an expected range of $91,000 – $108,000 (CAD) per year. We're committed to creating careers where employees can contribute, grow, and prosper. In addition to base pay, you'll enjoy:
