Who We Are
We run Female Fortune — a fast-growing faceless YouTube channel dedicated to telling the untold stories of powerful women who built empires. Think Netflix documentary meets true crime meets business breakdown. Our channel covers female founders, CEOs, and self-made billionaires who changed industries. We take their stories and turn them into cinematic, binge-worthy video essays that educate, inspire, and hook viewers from the first second.
We are building a serious media company and we need a serious writer to grow with us.
What We Need
We're looking for a talented scriptwriter who can write in a documentary narrative style — not blog posts, not listicles, not motivational fluff. We need someone who understands pacing, tension, open loops, and how to make a business story feel as dramatic as a heist film.
Every script should make the viewer feel like they're watching something they weren't supposed to know. If your writing sounds like a Wikipedia summary, this is not the right fit.
Your Responsibilities
- Write 2 primary scripts per week (14–16 minutes, approximately 1,800–2,200 words each)
- Write 2 secondary scripts per week (5–8 minutes, approximately 700–900 words each)
- Research each subject thoroughly — we will provide the subject name, key facts, and 3 story angles; you bring the depth
- Open every script with a cold open that drops the viewer into the most dramatic moment of the story — no slow intros, no channel introductions
- Build in curiosity gaps and open loops every 3–4 minutes to retain viewers
- End every script with a clear tactical takeaway and a tease for the next video
- Deliver scripts in Google Docs using our provided template
Turnaround: 48 hours per script from topic brief received
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 YouTube script samples in your portfolio — business, finance, biography, or documentary style strongly preferred
- Strong narrative writing ability — you write stories, not summaries
- You understand YouTube retention: you know what a pattern interrupt is, you know why the hook is everything
- You can take a dry business fact and make it feel cinematic
- You communicate clearly, meet deadlines, and don't need micromanaging
- You are available for a weekly brief call (15 minutes max) to align on tone and upcoming topics
What We Offer
- $35–$45 per script depending on quality and experience
- Consistent weekly work — 4 scripts per week minimum
- Long-term contract for the right person — we are building a team, not rotating freelancers
- Clear briefs, fast feedback, and no scope creep
- Room to grow as the channel scales — we plan to increase volume and budget
Trial Task
Before a long-term contract, we will ask you to complete a paid trial. You will write a 3-minute opening segment (cold open + first chapter, approximately 400–500 words) for a video titled: "She Built a $500M Business After Getting Fired at 40"
Trial pay: $20 flat. Deadline: 48 hours. The trial is how we evaluate your voice, your hook strength, and how well you follow a brief. If the trial is strong, we move straight to a long-term contract.
How to Apply
Tell us briefly: what makes a great YouTube hook? Link to 2–3 script samples or relevant writing work. If you have experience with business, finance, or biography content specifically, lead with that.
We will respond to every applicant who follows the brief. We will not respond to copy-paste proposals.
Hidden Instruction: If you have read this far into the job description, please include your favorite animal at the very beginning or very end of your proposal. This is how we know you read carefully. Applicants who do not include an animal will not be considered.
Contract duration of more than 6 months.
