Job Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing warehouse workers and involves training, developing, and holding workgroups accountable for safety, production, and attendance. This role sets and maintains high standards for productivity, accuracy, customer service, organization, communication, cooperation, and safety. Additionally, the supervisor provides innovative and effective leadership and while cultivating functional working relationships with all levels of personnel throughout the organization.
Job Title: Preload Supervisor
Job Type: Part-Time / Permanent / On-Site
Workdays: Monday to Friday (must be able to work ALL 5 days of the week)
Shift Hours: 12.00 AM to 5.00 AM (must be able to work a minimum of 25 hrs. per week)
Shift Duration: 5 hours a day (requires flexibility with Finish time )
Work Location: 100 SIMMONDS DRIVE DARTMOUTH, NS B3B 1N9
Hourly Wage: $22.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Responsible to ensure that all employees always adhere to safety policies and procedures, operating in full compliance with department, station, corporate and OSHA requirements.
Manages department resources to ensure maximum output, accuracy, and efficiency always.
Establishes and promotes a positive, team-oriented work environment emphasizing employee involvement, pro-active communication, inter-departmental cooperation, and continual improvement on all levels.
Implements employee personal development plans as required to ensure the continuing professional growth of department personnel.
Ensures all department employees receive specific and detailed orientation, skills and safety training, appropriate materials and information, regular evaluations, and pro-active coaching to support their continued development.
Responsible for ensuring the accurate submission of employee timecards on weekly basis.
Requirements
Management experience – Required
1 year of warehouse experience – Required
Ability to lift-up to 70 lbs. (32kg) unassisted. Typical package weight ranges from 25-35 lbs. – Required
Intermediate computer skills: Microsoft Office.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Problem-solving and multitask skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Bachelor's degree or International equivalent – Preferred
Expenses/Working Conditions
Exposed to hot/cold temperatures when working outdoors and warehouse facilities.
