The Position

The successful applicant will work independently and occasionally assist other lawn care staff by monitoring and maintaining thick, healthy client lawns through plant health care which involve Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and choosing appropriate cultural practices to suit the situation. This is a seasonal role, however the company does snow removal in the winter months, so there are year-round opportunities for work for the right candidates. This is a great role for an individual with the knowledge and skills for good lawn care and plant health practices, enjoys a variety of challenges, and has great customer service skills to wow our clients

What a typical day looks like...
- Safely operating a company truck and driving to client properties based on the provided schedule
- Applying fertilizer, insecticide, herbicide, fungicide to client properties, using hoses or truck mounted tanks
- Identifying unhealthy lawns, analyze, diagnose and recommend specific treatment
- Aerating, dethatching, slit-seeding and rolling lawns
- Educating clients, co-workers and crews and sell treatments
- Informing management when to stock and order materials to maintain proper chemical inventory
- Posting notification of any spray application
- Maintaining spray records
- Inputting time spent at client properties and notes about the work completed in LMN
Our Expectations

- High school diploma, post-secondary education in Horticulture preferred
- Valid Driver's License and Clean Driver's Abstract
- Licensed pesticide applicator (Extermination License) preferred, but willing to train the right individual who is willing to learn
- 5 years' work experience in landscaping with strong knowledge in plant health and encounters with many diseases and insects
- Capable of working independently and managing a schedule effectively and efficiently
- Detail oriented and strong diagnostic skills in order to correctly analyze, diagnose and synthesis treatments and evaluate
- Safety conscious
