Role Purpose
In this co-op position, you will work closely with our professionals and have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on operations experience in a challenging and versatile working environment. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, comfortable multitasking, and excited about improving their own skills and contributing to our processes.
The assignment will provide opportunities for engagement with logistics, operations, planning and KPI driven data, organization of data and graphical representation.
This is an 8-month contract.
About the Role
- Be integrated into the Operations department and work closely with the Operations Shift Managers, Operations Coordinators and other management team members
- Collaborate with internal teams (Safety and Maintenance) as needed to support projects or track operational data
- Support assigned projects related to process improvement, automated data retrieval, and data tracking
- Engage various internal and external stakeholders and team members in completion of projects
- Support the identification and recommendation of process improvements and ensure compliance to company and industry codes and standards
- Aid in analysis activities and support best design and operational practices
- Document system performance specifications
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including process mapping and workflow documentation
- Create training aids (i.e. quick reference guides, process visuals) to support adoption of operational changes
About You
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (Business, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics or related field preferred with an emphasis on data collection, processing and representation)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
- Demonstrated sound judgement and initiative
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with others
- Well-organized, with the ability to summarize data and support planning activities
- A passion for learning and continuous improvement
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Passionate about data analysis and system automation
- Some coding experience (i.e. Python, SQL or similar) is an asset
- Ability to self-manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
