About the Job
The primary duty of a Border Patrol Agent is to detect and prevent individuals from entering or exiting the country illegally. You will be responsible for patrolling designated areas along the border using various modes of transportation such as vehicles, horses, vessels, watercraft, off-road vehicles ATV snowmobiles and motorcycles enforcing federal laws related to immigration smuggling narcotics trafficking human trafficking endangered species trade weapons offenses homeland security violations currency violations international tax evasion customs regulation forgery counterfeiting bribery corruption document fraud money laundering aircraft piracy space piracy etc.
You may also perform other duties as assigned including providing assistance during natural disasters search rescue operations human remains recovery forensic analysis site investigations analyzing evidence preparing reports conducting interviews testifying in court service-of-process/ summons- Subpoena with law-enforcement personnel monitoring organized crime groups tracking fugitives locating missing persons preventing traffic accidents warning drivers change road conditions assisting local agencies their daily enforcement efforts performing investigative tasks helping apprehend criminals gathering intelligence interviewing witnesses planning surveilling suspects searching suspect property developing multi-agency collaborative strategies examining backgrounds checking status background checks hosting community outreach events organizing anti-drug antidrug public-service-awareness campaigns founding literacy programs operating fairs educating youth
