Position: Dental Assistant (Maternity Leave Contract)

Location: Calgary, AB

Clinic: Sayahh City Kids Dental Care

We know that great dental care is about more than just procedures—it's about creating a comfortable experience, building trust, and helping patients feel their best.

We're looking for a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team at Sayahh City Kids Dental Care, a proud part of the Passion Dental Group. Whether you're early in your career or bring years of experience, you'll be joining a supportive, professional environment where you can bring your expertise, energy, and empathy to the chair.

Specifics about the role:

  • Job Type: Full Time (Maternity Leave contract with potential for permanent placement)
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:15 to 3:00. No evenings or weekends with a flexible start date
  • Benefits: HSA, Uniform Allowance and Paid sick days
  • About the Clinic:

Located in the heart of Marlborough, Sayahh City Kids Dental Care is a welcoming, community-focused clinic dedicated to creating positive dental experiences for patients of all ages. With a city park–inspired reception area and Calgary-themed treatment rooms, the clinic offers a fun, comfortable environment that helps patients—especially children—feel at ease.

The team is deeply connected to the local Calgary community, participating in local events, promoting oral health education, and supporting families who may not otherwise have access to care. The clinic also proudly serves a diverse patient base, with multilingual team members able to support patients in Urdu, Hindi, Punjabi, Cantonese, Mandarin, Tagalog, and Spanish.

This is a great opportunity for candidates who value community impact, teamwork, and delivering compassionate, patient-centred care in a supportive and inclusive environment.

    What you'll do:

  • Assist the dentist chairside during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms following strict infection control protocols.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-treatment care, and dental procedures.
  • Take and develop X-rays (if certified) and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Support front desk operations as needed, including scheduling and patient communication.
  • Provide compassionate, confident care to children of all ages and abilities, ensuring a positive and supportive dental experience.
  • What you'll bring to the role:

  • Licensed/Registered Dental Assistant in good standing with the CADA.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Experience as a Dental Assistant (preferred), though new grads are welcome to apply.
  • Pediatric experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Certification as a Level I or Level II Dental Assistant (as recognized in Alberta).
  • Orthodontic module and/or scaling module are valuable assets, but not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills—you're as good at explaining care as you are at providing it.
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a busy schedule efficiently.
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to work with multiple dentists long-term.
  • Comfort with dental software systems and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience is a bonus.
  • Who we are:
