Job Description

The Manager, Operational Excellence will play a key role in driving continuous improvement across the organization. This individual will support the design and implementation of an Operational Excellence Management System, manage process improvement initiatives, foster collaboration through our Community of Practice and work in coordination with subject matter experts from across the enterprise. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong facilitation skills and a passion for operational efficiency.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Operational Excellence Management System Development:

  • Primary responsibility is to facilitate and support the building and deploying of a standard Operational Excellence Management System across the organization.

  • Develop tools and templates to support adoption and sustainability, and facilitate achievement of the program goals through management of dashboards, team huddles, or other activities as assigned.

  • Provide business leaders with visibility into the Operational Excellence Management System on a daily, monthly and early basis (Key Performance Indicators)

  • Facilitate collaboration across departments to achieve strategic goals.

Process Improvement Initiatives:

  • Manage and track improvement projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • Monitor performance metrics and report progress to leadership.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead related projects. Proactively identify how the improvements could be expanded across the enterprise and additional improvement opportunities to be planned for future projects.

  • Provide actionable insights to enhance operational efficiency across the enterprise.

Community of Practice Engagement:

  • Facilitate sessions, workshops, and networking events to share best practices and build capability.

  • Support knowledge-sharing platforms and maintain engagement across the community.

  • Act as a resource for teams seeking guidance on operational excellence principles.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.

  • Support the implementation of a comprehensive feedback process, gathering insights from all stakeholders and team members to continually improve performance and processes within the Community of Practice.

Qualifications, Skill and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field

  • Experience in process improvement, operational excellence, or related roles.

  • Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles; certification is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions and the ability to learn ideas quickly.

  • Excellent change management skills to guide individuals through a successful transition. 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively across functions.

  • Experience implementing Lean Management Systems a plus.

  • Familiarity with change management practices.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
