As a Border Patrol Agent , you will be part of an elite team responsible for safeguarding America's borders, preventing illicit activity, and enhancing the nation's economic prosperity.
- Typical assignments include detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations;
- Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near the border by maintaining surveillance from covert positions;
- Interpreting tracks, marks, and other physical evidence to identify illegal entry points;
- Serving on farms checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, transportation checks as well as patrolling international boundaries using various government assets.
The GL-5 grade level requires experience with one (1) year of general work experience demonstrating sound decision-making skills in stressful situations. Additionally,you must have had primary U.S. residency for at least three out of five years.
The following education qualification also meets this criteria: Bachelor's degree from any field leading to it -OR-a combination thereof calculated based off submitted resumes/transcripts.
You can qualify up until 40th birthday under law enforcement retirement provisions if serving federal civilian position covered under Title 5 USC Chapter etc.
