About the People You'll Support:
You will be supporting a wonderful group of individuals with learning disabilities who require high levels of support. They have lived together for years, enjoying each other's company while also pursuing their unique interests with your help.
Many of those we support may exhibit challenging behaviors and require assistance with personal care, although moving and handling needs are minimal.
Important: You must be a driver to be considered for this role.
Shift Patterns:
This is a 24-hour service, so flexibility is key! Your shifts will vary, typically ranging from:
- 7:00/8:00 AM to 2:00/3:00 PM
- 2:00/3:00 PM to 9:00/10:00 PM
Please note that working hours may vary.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Here's how you can make a difference:
- Assist with personal care needs
- Prepare meals with our involvement when desired
- Support with food and drink
- Manual handling as required
- Assist with medication, including creams and lotions
- Maintain accurate records, including financial records for audits
- Help manage finances safely
- Keep our home clean and tidy
- Ensure health and safety standards are met
- Create engaging and varied daily activities
- Liaise with landlords regarding tenancies and repairs
Are You the Ideal Candidate?
While knowledge of learning disabilities and complex needs is a plus, what truly matters is that you are:
- Passionate, caring, and enthusiastic
- Flexible, patient, and non-judgmental
- A great team player with boundless energy
- Able to communicate effectively, including understanding non-verbal cues
- Capable of handling the physical aspects of the role, including manual handling
- Experienced in helping individuals manage anxiety
