Join Our Team as a Site & Facilities Electrical Engineer (HV)

Location: Barrow-in-Furness / Hybrid (3 days on-site)

Salary: £45,628 – £61,500 (Based on skills and experience)

What You’ll Be Doing

As a vital member of our team, you will:

  • Define Standards: Establish site standards, processes, and technical requirements for electrical engineering related to equipment, systems, and facilities.
  • Conduct Reviews: Assess design proposals to ensure compliance with appropriate processes and standards throughout the lifecycle of equipment and facilities.
  • Create Documentation: Produce technical documentation and reports that support our engineering efforts.
  • Problem Solving: Engage in troubleshooting and resolving engineering issues related to high voltage systems.
  • Lead Improvements: Chair and guide enhancements in policies, equipment, and capabilities while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Your Skills and Experience

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • High Voltage Expertise: Proven experience with 11kV systems as an electrical engineer.
  • Industrial Background: Familiarity with commercial standards in an industrial engineering environment.
  • Educational Qualifications: A degree in electrical engineering or equivalent (e.g., HND with relevant experience).
  • Professional Registration: Registered with an engineering professional institute and the ability to achieve chartered status.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated leadership in an engineering context, with knowledge of British standards.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proven engineering experience in a technical role with transferable skills, such as assurance.
  • Nuclear Environment Experience: Familiarity with ONR License Conditions or similar highly regulated environments is a plus.
