Salary: Starting at £25,563.20, with potential earnings up to £32,283.20 through sleep-in shifts.
Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a dynamic and inspirational Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our dedicated team at Bayview. You will be working in a warm, family-oriented environment in either Heysham or rural North Lancaster, caring for a maximum of four young people at a time.
In this role, you will guide and support young individuals aged 8-18 who face social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Your commitment to our ethos will help create a safe, secure, and nurturing home where their lives can flourish. Our homes are rated 'Outstanding' or 'Good' by Ofsted, and we need passionate individuals to help us maintain and elevate our high standards.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional childcare and support as a Key Worker, consistently exceeding National Standards set by Ofsted.
- Enhance the lives of young residents through purposeful and systematic care.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families, friends, and external partners.
- Foster a culture of trust and mutual respect among children and staff.
- Develop and implement high-quality care plans tailored to each young person.
- Adhere to all legal requirements, Ofsted standards, and Bay View policies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and secure home environment.
- Build trusting relationships with children, understanding their unique backgrounds and needs.
- Engage proactively with children to create an inclusive and positive atmosphere.
- Supervise children actively, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Manage and de-escalate conflicts in line with our policies.
- Communicate any concerns regarding the children to management promptly.
- Participate in activities with children, fostering a sense of belonging.
- Assist with cooking and food purchasing to meet nutritional standards.
- A Diploma Level 3 in Working with Children & Young People or a Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship (to be completed within 2 years if not already held).
- A full UK driving license.
- Competitive salary with the potential for up to £6,720 in sleep-in payments (average of 6-8 shifts per month at £70 each).
