The U.S. Border Patrol offers entry-level law enforcement officer positions as a Border Patrol Agent.

Duties include detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration laws, inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations, preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens at the borders by maintaining surveillance from covert positions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting inspections of people, vehicles, and cargo at border checkpoints;


• Questioning individuals to gather information about their citizenship status;


• Pursuing individuals who attempt to evade inspection or are found in violation of immigration laws;


• Maintaining accurate records of investigations and arrests;
