Border Security Specialist

This long-term position in federal law enforcement has a profound impact on our nation and its citizens every day.

• Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of violating immigration and customs laws is a critical responsibility.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens, as well as smugglers of noncitizens, at or near borders is also crucial to the role.

The primary goal of this position is to effectively contribute to the security and integrity of our national borders. To achieve this, you will be responsible for:

• Maintaining awareness of potential threats to border security through constant vigilance and effective communication with colleagues.


• Safely detaining violators while ensuring minimal disruption to lawful travelers' passage across international boundaries.​​


• Gathering evidence related to possible infractions by closely inspecting passports, visas, and other relevant documentation at designated checkpoints. /
