Wood is recruiting for an Applications Engineer - (Conventional Power Proposals) to join its Operations Americas business focusing on Oil & Gas BU. This opportunity is onsite in Hampton, NJ, United States.

The Role
This role will assist with preparing technical proposals for our Aftermarket Boiler business. This is a highly visible role that works closely with senior leadership, strategy, business development, capture personnel, and operations staff, to plan and deliver responsive, well-defined, and effective proposals to clients and prospective customers at locations worldwide. This position Provides key support for strategic planning projects and major proposals, Makes bid and/or no bid recommendations and participates in proposal preparation and reviews. The role is also responsible for management of the proposals team for the respective group and development of and/or compliance with Corporate and Business Unit-specific proposal procedures.

Typical responsibilities
Support pre-proposal positioning where appropriate, as well as proposal development strategies and implementation, for Business Unit-strategic pursuits. This includes capture plan and proposal planning document development Coordinate activities related to technical part of the proposal Take end-to-end ownership and command of proposal development and related support processes and procedures, including written proposals, oral presentations, Best and Final Offers, Evaluation Notices, Final Proposal Revisions, etc. Preparing the final list of agreed technical qualifications and pricing notes (including review of pricing as applicable) to ensure risks are correctly factored into the tender pricing Perform technical evaluation of sub-suppliers quotation Support proposal estimate as needed Consolidate the technical part of the firm proposal Participate and support Technical Risk Assessment Comply with Wood Code of Business Conduct, Anti Bribery and Corruption undertakings and the Wood mandatory and fundamental procedures Qualifications

Expected:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university Minimum of 5 years of experience with utility/industrial boilers, HRSGs Strong technical and project management skills Must be a US citizen, or authorized to work lawfully in the US, without sponsorship from Wood Must be proficient in reading boiler and equipment drawings. Proficient with documentation and report/proposal writing. Some domestic and international travel visiting clients and vendors is required. Physical ability to enter boiler and auxiliary equipment through existing access doors and openings. Willing and able to work in confined spaces and at heights. Technical knowledge of boilers, pulverizers, combustion equipment, environmental equipment, HRSGs etc. Flexibility in schedule, initiative, willingness to learn, maintain effective and professional interaction with all levels. Desirable:
Professional Engineering (PE) License preferred.
