Summary: Join Meta as a Connectivity Engineer on our Design Engineering and Construction (DEC) team. In this pivotal role, you will help design and support the data centers that power Meta's innovative services. Our data centers play a critical role in connecting people to the videos, feeds, and vital information they depend on every day. As a Connectivity Engineer in DEC, you will manage telecommunication projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & Control:
Develop and communicate project timelines, scopes, and milestones, collaborating with project management for a seamless project lifecycle.
Learnings:
Analyze ongoing projects for efficiency opportunities and document findings to share insights and foster best practices across teams.
Forecasting:
Assist in budget forecasting and provide clear updates to stakeholders regarding project status.
Technical Reviews:
Set equipment purchase milestones and support contractor selection for cabling work.
Metrics:
Report project progress and risks to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Workflow:
Collaborate with installation partners to track milestones and manage change requests effectively.
Vendor Field Management:
Oversee connectivity activities on site, building relationships with installation partners to enhance productivity and ensure safety.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with DEC standards and local codes.
Technical Field Lead:
Act as the technical authority on standards and lead evaluations to clarify project scope and methods.
Technical Coordination:
Address field challenges by working closely with design teams to refine project outcomes.
Communications & Cross-functional Team Engagement:
Keep communication open with construction and logistics partners to optimize project execution and reduce risks.
Safety:
Maintain high safety standards, ensuring compliance with local regulations and promoting a 'safety first' culture.
Travel:
This position requires at least 50% travel.
Minimum Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in project management.
Proven experience in engaging and guiding stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to solve construction-related challenges.
Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience leading installations according to design documents.
Background in data center development or construction management.
Familiarity with Primavera 6.
Experience managing IT or IP network deployment projects in critical environments.
Experience in deploying network/structured cabling infrastructure.
Knowledge of fiber optic testing and troubleshooting.
Experience with outside plant cabling installations.
Familiarity with quality assurance processes and inspections.
Compensation: $123,000 to $176,000 per year + bonus + equity + benefits Industry:
