GENERAL PURPOSE: As an experienced Systems Administrator Associate, you will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and supporting our hardware platforms, operating systems, and related technologies. Your role will involve enhancing distribution center operations through support and integration activities aligned with Ross' distribution and transportation systems. As a valued team member, you will ensure high standards for system uptime and availability while establishing documentation, standards, best practices, procedures, and guidelines. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Design, install, maintain, configure, secure, and support hardware platforms, operating systems, wired/wireless network components, and related technologies. Develop and deliver timely solutions to challenges, enabling the IT organization to progress swiftly while maintaining high-quality workmanship throughout all phases. Plan and execute performance baselines, monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning, including diagnosing and resolving performance issues. Embrace new roles and responsibilities as assigned or as business needs dictate. Provide thorough documentation and knowledge transfer to all individuals or organizations supported. Perform hardware/software configuration and release management. Utilize productivity tools to efficiently manage your workload, including time, project, and priority management. Employ SDLC processes to develop, present, and track project activities, including presentations to both technical and management associates. Possess a detailed understanding of structured cabling systems in the DC, including CAT5, CAT6/6E, Single and Multi-Mode fiber optics, IDF/MDFs, switches, and cross-connection methodologies. Proficiently troubleshoot hardware/software issues on WCS platforms (e.g., Dematic conveyance systems, Inteligrated/Crisplant Tilt Tray, GOH, PTL/PTV, Ticketing). QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: 2-4 years of experience supporting retail systems, including at least 1 year in a complex computing environment for supply chain distribution systems. Strong understanding of retail dynamics and supply chain technology within a complex, integrated environment. Familiarity with Distribution Center/Warehouse management systems. Solid technical skills and experience in: Networking topologies and wireless infrastructures. Maintaining network systems and services, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, VoIP, and other IP devices. UNIX and Windows operating systems. Internet/Intranet technologies. Data Center design/optimization and environmental support components. Preferred qualifications include: 2+ years experience with backup technologies, high-end storage solutions (preferably Hitachi SAN), SCCM System Management, and Event Management tools or related technologies. Experience in maintaining operating system security, performance monitoring, and integrity. Familiarity with IT processes including System Management, Patch Management, Change Management, Configuration Management, Release Management, Problem Management, Business Continuity Planning, Customer Service, and Vendor Relationship Management. Ability to define and deliver effective methodologies and processes that foster a proactive work environment while providing structured, repeatable work for all Tier 1 support personnel or organizations. Strong analytical, problem-solving, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting skills. Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA: This job entails working in an office environment, primarily on a computer. Responsibilities include sitting, standing, walking, hearing, communication by telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and handling paper/files. Requirements include consistent punctuality and regular attendance, with vision abilities to see information in print and electronically. The role necessitates frequent walking throughout distribution centers (approximately 2 million square feet) to assist and support users, as well as the ability to ascend/descend stairs Frequent standing and walking for extended periods may be necessary, alongside effective communication in a noisy environment. Occasionally, the position may require bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting boxes up to 50 pounds. This role requires full-time in-office presence to foster in-person interaction, meetings, collaboration, client support, coaching, mentoring, and feedback. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
