We are on the lookout for a talented Data Engineer to enhance our Telecom Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) operations. The ideal candidate will possess robust hands-on experience in data ingestion, transformation, quality assurance, operations engineering, modeling, and delivery, utilizing a modern cloud data stack, including FiveTran, Snowflake, Matillion, Tableau, and Secoda. This critical role ensures that our data is reliable and readily available, fueling enterprise analytics, reporting, and strategic decision-making throughout the telecom organization. Key Responsibilities
Data Ingestion & Integration:
Design and manage automated data ingestion pipelines utilizing FiveTran and other ETL/ELT tools. Seamlessly integrate data from various telecom systems (OSS/BSS, CRM, billing, and network) into Snowflake while ensuring processes meet business SLAs for scalability and reliability. Data Transformation & Modeling:
Develop optimized ELT pipelines in Matillion for effective data transformations in Snowflake. Construct and maintain data models (staging, core, mart layers) to cater to our reporting and analytics demands. Data Quality & Governance:
Enforce data validation, profiling, and quality checks to secure data accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with governance teams to uphold metadata and documentation standards in Secoda while promptly addressing any data discrepancies. Operations Engineering:
Oversee the daily operations of the EDW, including job scheduling and monitoring. Implement alerting and observability practices to maintain high system uptime and participate in after-hours support as needed. Analytics & Data Delivery:
Partner with analysts, BI developers, and stakeholders to facilitate data consumption in Tableau, developing dashboards and APIs for business use cases that align with data warehouse designs. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
Collaborate with data architects and business analysts to translate business needs into effective data engineering solutions, contributing to standards and best practices. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field. 8+ years of data engineering or data warehousing experience, preferably in telecom. Proficiency in FiveTran, Snowflake, Matillion, Tableau, and Secoda or similar tools. Solid understanding of data modeling techniques and data quality frameworks. Strong SQL skills with familiarity in Python or bash scripting for automation. Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the telecom sector, particularly with OSS/BSS systems. Knowledge of CI/CD processes for data pipelines. Familiarity with dbt or similar frameworks and data observability tools. Soft Skills: Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Detail-oriented and proactive regarding issue resolution. Able to thrive independently in a dynamic environment. Benefits
