We are looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory through regular counts, reconciliation, and process improvement. You will work closely with warehouse management to identify and resolve discrepancies, implement cycle counting programs, and ensure that inventory records are up-to-date and reliable. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a solid understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management systems. A commitment to safety and efficiency within the logistics environment is essential. This position may require some lifting and the ability to work diligently in a fast-paced setting. We strictly enforce safety protocols and the use of PPE is mandatory. This is a vital role in optimizing our supply chain and ensuring operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies by identifying root causes.
- Reconcile inventory records with physical stock and system data.
- Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Monitor inventory levels and report on stock status.
- Assist with receiving and shipping processes to ensure accuracy.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, focusing on proper storage and labeling.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar warehouse role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of general logistics and supply chain principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
