We are actively recruiting Order Pickers for our busy distribution center in Des Moines, Iowa. In this role, you will be essential to fulfilling customer orders by accurately selecting items from our extensive inventory. This position requires a keen eye for detail, efficiency, and a strong adherence to safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE. As an Order Picker, you'll navigate the warehouse using advanced scanning technology or pick lists to gather products for shipment. Responsibilities:
- Accurately retrieve specified items from warehouse shelving using RF scanners or pick tickets.
- Verify product details to ensure order accuracy.
- Transport picked items to the packing or staging area efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to optimize workflow.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Report any inventory discrepancies or equipment issues promptly.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, such as cycle counts.
- Collaborate with other team members to meet daily picking goals.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics operations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous warehouse or order picking experience is advantageous.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with basic warehouse logistics principles.
- Dedication to workplace safety and compliance with PPE requirements.
- Ability to remain active, standing and walking for extended periods.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
