We are looking for a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and safely. This role is critical to our Logistics operations, as it directly impacts customer satisfaction through timely and correct deliveries. You will prepare shipping documents, coordinate with carriers, track shipments, and maintain organized shipping areas. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading and packing slips.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Verify outgoing shipments against orders to ensure accuracy.
- Track shipments and provide updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Operate shipping equipment, such as pallet jacks and scanners.
- Maintain organized and clean shipping and receiving areas.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, carriers, and customers.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE .
- Ensure all shipments meet carrier requirements and company standards.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the Logistics department.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including occasional Lifting of packages up to 40 lbs.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role is preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Familiarity with shipping software and processes. Understanding of shipping and receiving procedures. Knowledge of warehouse Safety protocols and the importance of PPE . Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform tasks involving physical exertion, including occasional Lifting . Must be authorized to work in the US. Basic computer skills are necessary for tracking and documentation. This role is integral to our Logistics chain.
