Our Charlotte, North Carolina facility is looking for a diligent Receiving Clerk to manage incoming shipments. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for deliveries, responsible for accurately documenting, inspecting, and organizing all inbound goods. This role is fundamental to our logistics and inventory management processes, ensuring that all received items are accounted for and stored correctly. Adherence to strict safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE, is essential. If you are detail-oriented and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is the role for you.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming freight from various carriers.
- Inspect shipments for damage, discrepancies, and verify against purchase orders or packing slips.
- Accurately document all received goods using the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and label inventory appropriately.
- Store received goods in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper rotation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper lifting techniques and the mandatory use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts as needed.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a receiving, warehouse, or logistics role is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Familiarity with WMS is a plus.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work efficiently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
