Our dynamic distribution center in Cincinnati, Ohio, is looking for a proactive Shipping Clerk to manage our outgoing shipments. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and dispatch of all orders, ensuring they meet our high standards for quality and timeliness. You will work closely with carriers, manage shipping documents, and maintain precise records within our logistics system. The ideal candidate possesses excellent organizational skills, a sharp eye for detail, and a strong commitment to safety within a busy warehouse environment. You will be a key player in our daily operations, ensuring our customers receive their orders efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Process outgoing shipments by accurately picking, packing, and labeling orders according to specified requirements.
- Verify that all items being shipped correspond to the order details and documentation.
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers for timely pickups and deliveries.
- Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required shipping documents.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date shipping logs and update the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Conduct quality checks on outgoing packages to prevent errors or damage.
- Ensure the shipping area is maintained in a clean, orderly, and safe condition, following all company safety protocols.
- Utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Adhere to safe lifting practices and material handling procedures.
- Communicate proactively with internal teams and external carriers to address any shipping-related issues.
- Assist with other warehouse functions and inventory tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or general warehouse operations is preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping software and common carrier systems.
- Computer proficiency, including experience with WMS.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and order processing.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of safety guidelines, including proper lifting and PPE usage.
- Understanding of the broader logistics supply chain.
