Join our bustling logistics hub in New York City, New York, as a Material Handler. This critical role supports the smooth flow of goods within our facility, ensuring materials are moved, organized, and prepared for various warehouse operations. The ideal candidate is physically fit, reliable, and committed to maintaining a safe working environment. You will be an integral part of our supply chain team, contributing to the efficiency of our complex urban logistics network.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and store incoming materials and products.
- Transport materials to and from production, storage, or shipping areas using appropriate equipment.
- Load and unload trucks and containers efficiently and safely.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts (if certified), pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage areas.
- Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counting.
- Ensure all materials are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety regulations, including the correct usage of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to management.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is required.
- Ability to perform tasks involving frequent and substantial Lifting.
- Proficiency in operating various material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse procedures and logistics.
- Excellent physical condition and stamina.
- Commitment to Safety and adherence to all protocols.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Must be willing to wear all required PPE.
