Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Madison, Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, performing regular audits, and implementing strategies to minimize discrepancies and stockouts. This role is crucial for the efficiency of our warehouse operations and requires a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy of inventory records.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Manage and maintain the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for inventory-related data.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Monitor stock levels and identify potential issues, such as overstocking or obsolescence.
  • Coordinate with other departments, including receiving, shipping, and production, to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Track and report on key inventory metrics, such as accuracy rates and turnover.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of all inventory to prevent damage and loss.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
  • Assist in the training of new team members on inventory control procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in WMS software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate to heavy Lifting.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in a logistics or warehouse environment is essential.
  • Commitment to workplace Safety.
