Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing strategies to minimize inventory loss. This role is crucial to ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and the timely fulfillment of customer orders. You will work closely with warehouse associates, supervisors, and management to uphold high standards of inventory accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock levels.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies by researching transaction history and stock movements.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for improvement.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of all inventory items to prevent damage or loss.
  • Collaborate with the logistics team to optimize warehouse layout and product placement for efficiency.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely and effectively as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Generate reports on inventory levels, accuracy, and variances.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices in inventory management and logistics.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in inventory control or a related warehouse role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all PPE requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
