Our dynamic logistics team in Portland, Oregon is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our growing operation. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to load, unload, transport, and store materials and products. Adherence to all safety protocols and company policies is paramount. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe forklift operation and a strong understanding of warehouse procedures. We are committed to providing a safe working environment and expect all team members to contribute to maintaining it. This position involves regular lifting and requires physical stamina. Successful candidates will be provided with necessary PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move pallets, materials, and finished goods.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately.
- Transport inventory to and from designated storage areas.
- Perform routine checks on forklift equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation as needed.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety and PPE.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities related to logistics and safety.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to safety and proper use of PPE.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
