We are looking for a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our busy warehouse in Omaha, Nebraska. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move, load, unload, and store materials within the warehouse. This role is essential for maintaining the flow of goods through our logistics operations. You will be instrumental in ensuring that inventory is managed correctly and that orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. Safety is our top priority; therefore, strict adherence to all safety guidelines and the proper use of PPE is mandatory. This position requires individuals comfortable with lifting and handling various materials.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck) safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper securing of cargo.
- Transport materials from receiving to storage areas and from storage to shipping docks.
- Stack and arrange inventory in designated locations, ensuring stability and accessibility.
- Conduct daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations, including maintaining clear visibility and safe operating speeds.
- Use appropriate PPE at all times while operating equipment or working in the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Support the broader logistics and warehouse team with other tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
