Border Patrol Agent Job Overview

We are currently seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to fill the role of Border Patrol Agent. As a Border Patrol Agent, you will be responsible for enforcing U.S. laws and regulations at our nation's borders.


About This Role:

  • Law Enforcement Expertise: With excellent communication skills, you will effectively interact with various stakeholders, including foreign nationals, to ensure compliance with immigration laws.

  • Physical Demands: Be prepared for an active job that requires working outdoors in all weather conditions, often under physically demanding circumstances.

To Be Eligible For This Position:
  1. You must possess one year of general work experience demonstrating your ability to make sound decisions under pressure or have completed a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.  OR , A combination of relevant general work experience AND successful completion of college education may also qualify you. ,   For GL-7 grade level requirements please refer BPA Job Opening Announcement .

Veterans' Preference: This position is open to qualified veterans who meet specific eligibility criteria. Consider exploring this option as it may expand your chances for selection due to special consideration given to candidates with military service backgrounds.

If selected, you will undergo rigorous training at the US BPA Academy in Artesia, NM, warranting proficiency in both English—the primary operational language—and Spanish—the crucial secondary language vital for effective BPA duties.).
The start date may depend on clearance procedures after passing background checks like credit check.
