Border Patrol Agents are part of a diverse team dedicated to protecting the American people by safeguarding our borders, deterring illicit activity and enhancing the nation's economic prosperity.

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration laws
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens at or near the border using surveillance techniques such as infrared scopes during night operations

• Making sound judgments and decisions in firearm usage situations.
• Dealing effectively with people in a courteous manner regarding law enforcement matters.
