Senior Data Engineer, Palantir . In this dynamic role, you'll collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to rapidly build impactful products that enhance our financial performance and elevate customer experience. You'll develop cloud-native, large-scale software for employees using cutting-edge technologies including React, Python, Java, AWS, and Palantir Foundry. We are looking for a candidate with robust full-stack development skills, a growth mindset, and a passion for delivering high-quality software sustainably. Experience with Palantir Foundry is preferred, but we welcome engineers eager to learn and dedicated to engineering excellence. What You'll Do: In this role, your daily responsibilities will include: Collaborating with Product Managers, Product Designers, and fellow engineers in balanced teams. Embracing Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices for all production code. Implementing Continuous Integration (CI) to automate our development process. Architecting user interfaces and designing functions that enhance data visualization and interaction. Contributing to both frontend and backend codebases to advance and develop projects. Cultivating software development at a sustainable pace that ensures reliability and quality. Frontend Development: Creating responsive, intuitive user interfaces using React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript. Building reusable component libraries and implementing frontend architecture best practices. Generating UX/UI designs with a focus on usability and efficiency. Optimizing applications for speed, scalability, and accessibility. Developing large-scale web and mobile applications for employee use. Backend Development: Designing and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend services using Python or Java. Creating data models and database schemas. Deploying applications to cloud environments, primarily AWS. Integrating with third-party services and APIs. Writing clean, well-documented, and maintainable code. Palantir Foundry Development (Highly Preferred): Building custom applications and integrations within the Palantir Foundry platform. Developing Ontology-based applications using object types, link types, and actions. Creating data pipelines and transformations using Python transforms. Implementing custom widgets and user experiences with the Foundry SDK. Designing functions that enhance user data interaction and visualization. Product Development & Delivery: Researching complex problems and breaking them into manageable tasks. Adopting a Lean mindset to deliver value quickly. Engaging across all stages of product development and deployment. Conducting code reviews and offering constructive feedback to peers. Collaborating with product managers and stakeholders to define requirements. Contributing to architectural decisions and maintaining technical documentation. What We're Looking For: Experience with the Palantir Foundry platform is required. 5+ years in web front-end or mobile development. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred. Strong proficiency in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS. Solid knowledge of Object Oriented or Functional Programming languages including Java, Python, or Kotlin. Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs. Knowledge of deploying to cloud environments, preferably AWS. Familiarity with version control systems, especially GitHub. Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases. Acquainted with modern frontend build tools and package managers, such as Webpack and npm. Experience with React, including React Native for mobile app development is preferred. Background in Android or iOS development is preferred. Experience with data visualization libraries like D3.js or Chart.js is preferred. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is a plus. Experience with the Spring framework is beneficial. Understanding Lean, User Centered Design, and Agile methodologies. Demonstrated strong communication skills for effective collaboration. A growth mindset and willingness to learn new technologies. Kindness and empathy when developing user-focused software.
