Purpose of the Role:
We have an exciting internship opportunity within our Philanthropy team for a student enrolled in post-secondary studies specializing in Finance, Economics, or Business. This role is ideal for someone eager to apply their academic knowledge in a professional setting while contributing to a dynamic, client-focused environment.
As a Philanthropy Intern you will provide administrative support to the Nicola Wealth Private Giving Foundation (PGF) team. This role will support the team in administering day to day operations of the Foundation including opening new Donor Advised Funds, and processing donation and grant transactions, while supporting the goal of providing our clients with a seamless donor experience. This role requires exceptional communication and problem-solving skills in order to provide a high level of administrative service to our high-net worth clients.
This will be a 3-month internship starting in June 2026. The location will be a hybrid of work from home and an in-office environment at our Vancouver/Toronto office.
Core Responsibilities:- Prepare and manage administrative documents for new accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and manage administrative documents for existing accounts, as updates or changes are required.
- Facilitate donations into the Foundation, including in-kind gift transfers, database management, and issuing tax receipts
- Communication with clients and internal stakeholders as required
- Support with disbursements and communication to external charities may be required
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited Canadian university/college in Finance, Economics or Business.
- Experience within the Charitable sector is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong client service skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office including MS word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
- A self-starter with the ability to take initiative and think critically to seek out information and solutions independently.
- Experience working independently, as well as in partnership with other team members.
- Available full-time for the full summer term.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada for the full term.
Our internship position offers a competitive market salary of $26 per hour, along with additional benefits.
