We need someone who can respond quickly when significant developments occur and transform raw information and video footage into professional, structured, and responsible public messaging.
Core Responsibilities
When events occur (for example: community developments, protests, public incidents), you will:
• Review raw video footage
• Identify key moments
• Create short-form video content (Reels, Shorts, TikTok)
• Edit longer documentary-style summaries when needed
• Write platform-specific captions
• Publish across all social media platforms
• Update relevant website pages
• Maintain consistent brand voice and credibility
In quieter periods:
• Maintain light platform activity
• Monitor engagement
• Suggest improvements
• Support organic follower growth
Required Skills
• Strong video editing skills (short-form + basic documentary cuts)
• Ability to work from raw footage and extract compelling moments
• Strong English writing skills
• Experience managing nonprofit / advocacy / public communications
• Fast response time during active situations
• Independent decision-making
• Understanding of responsible communication around sensitive topics

• Knows how to "get things done" without waiting for constant instruction
• Can turn footage into clear narrative
• Understands how to structure messaging professionally
• Can manage accounts without supervision
• Thinks strategically about impact and credibility
Structure
This is an ongoing engagement with:
• Base weekly availability
• Increased hours during active events
• Long-term collaboration potential
