About the Role
We are looking for a creative, fast-paced Video Editor who understands basketball culture and YouTube storytelling. This role requires someone who is deeply familiar with the editing styles, pacing, humor, and energy of basketball influencers like The Midrange, NotSoAirJordan, Jesser, and DC Heat.
You should instinctively understand:
Retention-driven pacing
High-energy cuts and zooms
Meme integration
Sound design that enhances emotion
Storytelling that builds tension and payoff
This is not basic editing. This is culture-first, algorithm-aware basketball content.
Responsibilities
Edit long-form YouTube basketball content (10–20 minutes)
Create high-retention short-form clips for TikTok/Reels/YouTube Shorts
Add motion graphics, subtitles, sound effects, and memes
Shape narratives to increase watch time and engagement
Collaborate on video concepts and hooks
Deliver edits on tight deadlines
Requirements
Strong understanding of basketball culture and trends
Familiarity with creators like The Midrange, NotSoAirJordan, Jesser, and DC Heat
Proficiency in Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve
Strong sense of pacing, comedic timing, and emotional build-up
Experience editing for YouTube (retention-focused editing is a MUST)
Ability to take feedback and iterate quickly
Bonus Points
You play basketball or are heavily immersed in hoops culture
Experience with thumbnail ideation
Basic motion graphics skills (After Effects)
Understanding of YouTube analytics & retention graphs
What We're Looking For
Someone who doesn't just "cut clips," but understands how to:
Turn a 1-hour recording into a binge-worthy 12-minute story
Build hype before a big moment
Make viewers comment, share, and stay
If you know why certain Jesser edits hit… and you can replicate that energy — I want to see your work.
Contract duration of 1 to 3 months.
Mandatory skills: Video Editing, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Video Post-Editing
