THE ROLE
The Head Bartender assists with scheduling, monitoring of all bar activities and events according to established policies and regulations. You greet customers, prepares and serves mixed drinks, wine, draft or bottled beer and non-alcoholic beverages for patrons. The Head Bartender assists with organizing and monitoring private functions, as required. You also assist with staff supervision and training and hiring, as required.
Qualifications Needed
Education, Certifications and Licenses
High school diploma AND some years of bartender experience
(OR An acceptable combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered)
AND
Must be of legal age to serve alcohol (NL)
Must possess a Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (NL)
Experience
In serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
In cash handling
In bar operations
In inventory control
In personnel administration
Competencies
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
Language Requirements
English Essential

Other Information
This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.
This position is typically scheduled on Monday and Thursday morning and Wednesday and Friday evening.
Some weekend work is required.
This unionized position is open to all interested parties. Preference will be granted in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
Offer expertise in management, operational and hospitality services as part of the team that oversees military messes throughout Canada and the world. The military mess is the centre of social life for serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces, where customs, responsibilities and social standards are practiced. Messes are steeped in rich military heritage and tradition. The mess includes food as a central component of events and camaraderie. Personnel Support Program (PSP) Hospitality Services and management are pinnacle to their success.
