The House of Commons' Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to staff the Senior IT Project Manager and Senior Technology Infrastructure Project Manager positions.
Senior IT Project Manager Stream
The Senior Information Technology (IT) Project Manager leads complex, enterprise-level IT projects that support the House of Commons' technology priorities. These projects are large in scope, high impact, and critical to business operations. The role works across multiple teams and areas, including IT infrastructure, facilities, services, and applications, to deliver projects from planning through completion.
Working in a matrix environment, the Senior IT Project Manager leads internal project teams and coordinates with stakeholders, including external partners, manages schedules, risks, issues, and quality, tracks progress against approved plans, and monitors expenditures against budgets. The role provides regular updates to senior management, along with recommendations to address issues and mitigate risks, and supports decision-making on major initiatives. The Senior IT Project Manager leads projects using a variety of methodologies, including waterfall, hybrid, and Agile, and oversees contractor work.
Senior Technology Infrastructure Project Manager Stream
The Senior Technology Infrastructure Project Manager leads complex technology infrastructure projects that support Parliament's day-to-day operations and services. These projects focus on integrating technology within buildings and delivering parliamentary campus-wide infrastructure solutions that enable reliable and secure parliamentary services.
The role oversees projects from planning and execution through transition to operations. Working closely with technical teams, stakeholders, and external service partners, the Senior Technology Infrastructure Project Manager manages timelines, resources, and technical risks, resolves delivery issues, and ensures solutions meet operational requirements and standards. Strong stakeholder engagement and comfort with technical environments are key to supporting Members and Canadians.

Qualifications
Education :
University degree in either Computer Science, Engineering, Project Management OR an acceptable combination of post-secondary education with relevant experience.
Experience:
7+ years' experience leading multi-disciplinary teams on complex information technology and/or technology infrastructure projects;
Experience in one of the following areas:
- technology infrastructure projects, including technology integration in buildings or campus
environments; or
-experience in at least two of the following:
(1) COTS system implementation or major upgrades
(2) software development
(3) large-scale deployment of new software or hardware technologies
Experience in the management of large information technology projects encompassing all project stages, from inception to deployment and closeout;
Experience in preparing project documentation including Project Charters, Project Plans, Closeout Reports;
Experience in facilitating meetings with clients to elicit or clarify requirements, address concerns;
Experience in preparing and presenting project updates to senior executives and project stakeholders;
Experience in change management.
Assets:
IT Stream:
PMP Certification;
Scrum Master Certification;
Experience using Microsoft AzureDevOps;
Experience in developing and implementing change management plans to support the introduction of new/improved technology solutions to clients.
Infrastructure Stream:
PMP Certification;
Experience collaborating with partners in fields such as construction, security, interior design and architecture;
Experience in government procurement;
Experience working in a construction environment.
