Über
The project is a Marketplace platform where sellers can register and list their products. Payments are processed through the platform, and seller earnings are transferred manually after deducting a commission.
We want a simple and practical Lean MVP, without heavy custom development — just proper and professional setup.
(We already have Stripe and a registered company.)
Project Concept (Briefly):
The platform acts as a middleman between buyer and seller
The customer pays the platform
The platform takes a 10% commission
Seller earnings are transferred manually
Shipping is the seller's responsibility
no automatic payouts
Required Tasks:
1) Store Setup
Create Shopify store and configure basic settings (currency – language – timezone)
Choose a clean, fast, and lightweight theme
2) Multi-Vendor System
Install a multi-vendor app
Enable seller registration
Provide seller dashboard
Set seller permissions
3) Manual Seller Approval
All sellers start as "Pending"
Admin approves or rejects
4) Commission
Set platform commission to 10% per order
Reports visible in admin dashboard
5) Payments
Activate Shopify Payments
Test payment process
All funds go to the platform account only
6) Money Flow
Customer pays → Platform receives money
Platform transfers seller earnings manually after commission
No escrow
7) Shipping
Shipping is the seller's responsibility
Each seller sets their own shipping rates
8) Policy Pages
Terms
Privacy
Refund
(Clearly state that the platform is a middleman.)
9) Communication Inside Platform Only
Block phone numbers and WhatsApp links
Enable internal messaging system
10) Testing
Create test seller
Add products
Simulate full purchase process
11) MVP Launch
Remove test data
Launch the platform live
Freelancer Requirements
Proven experience with Shopify Marketplace
Completed a previous multi-vendor project (send link)
Understands money flow and commission structure
No complex custom coding — professional setup only
Project Deliverables:
By the end of the project, we expect:
Fully working marketplace platform
Multiple vendors
10% commission system
Payments through the platform
Ready to accept users
Important Notes
This is an MVP, not a final full marketplace
If successful, we will continue development with the same freelancer
