Position Overview

As
an Overnight Prep Cook at Cabot Cape Breton, you will be an essential part of
our culinary team, responsible for preparing product with precision and consistency.
Your role involves executing recipe preparation according to exacting
standards, maintaining a clean and organized workstation, and collaborating
effectively with other kitchen staff. Attention to detail, speed, and the
ability to work under pressure are crucial in this role, ensuring timely and
consistent delivery of ingredients to our kitchens. You will assist in food
preparation and cooking, contributing to the overall dining experience at Cabot
Cape Breton. Your passion for cooking, dedication to quality, and teamwork will
play a significant role in upholding our culinary reputation and ensuring guest
satisfaction.

Preferred qualifications and
skills:

  • Previous experience in the culinary field required
  • Diploma/Certification in a Culinary discipline an
    asset 
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving

  • Highly responsible & reliable 
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced
    environment 
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team 
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining
    calm and courteous at all times  

Requirements of the role you
should be aware of:

  • Based on the nature of our business and
    the service we provide to our guests, to work with us, you must consent to a
    criminal background check as a condition of employment and an additional
    criminal background check every two years.
  • As a seasonal resort business, you can
    anticipate a schedule that will involve day, evening, night, and weekend work.
  • Spending
    long hours walking, standing, and using knife skills.
  • Frequently
    lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional
    ascending and descending of stairs and ramps.
  • Occasional
    kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Working
    in a hot, intense kitchen producing a significant volume of food.
  • Constant focus and repetitive work are to be expected. 
  • Ability
    to manage timeline pressures and constraints.
