Mission
A major nuclear project is currently under construction in Ontario. As part of this project, we are looking for an engineer specializing in temporary structures/works who is motivated to join a dynamic team of engineers.
Most construction projects require the construction of temporary structures (e.g. retaining walls, crane pedestals, assembly buildings, heavy prefabrication, scaffolding, shoring, formwork, and steel structures, etc.) that are not designed by the main designer.
The Engineer's Responsibilities Will Include
Liaising with the client to discuss design and technical requirements
Designing and performing calculations for temporary structures or temporary phases (concrete, simple frameworks, ensuring safety, stability, and compliance with applicable codes and standards)
Coordinating with the backup teams in Paris (France) if complex issues requiring additional expertise arise
Monitoring progress on site and verifying compliance of temporary works installations
Providing technical support to construction teams during the assembly and dismantling of temporary structures.
You will work on-site as part of a team at our client's location, maintaining regular contact with our back-office technical staff. As the project develops, this role may expand. Strong candidates could take on more responsibilities within the project or pursue wider opportunities at Setec in Canada.
Profil
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field
Professional Engineer (P.Eng) Ontario designation
Minimum of 5 years of experience
Proficiency in modeling software (SAP, ETABS, etc.) and in CSA (and the ACI is a plus).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
