We're seeking an experienced AI developer to build an intelligent customer support agent for our growing e-commerce business. The agent will handle customer inquiries, order tracking, returns/exchanges, and product recommendations across multiple channels (website chat, email, and potentially SMS).
Project Scope
Core Requirements
Multi-channel Integration: Deploy AI agent on our website (live chat widget), email system, and prepare for future SMS integration
Natural Language Understanding: Process customer queries in natural language with high accuracy
Order Management Integration: Connect with our Shopify store to retrieve order status, tracking information, and customer history
Knowledge Base: Build and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base covering our 200+ products, policies, and FAQs
Escalation Logic: Smart handoff to human agents for complex issues with context preservation
Multi-language Support: Initially English, with capability to expand to Spanish and French
Technical Specifications
Platform: We're open to recommendations (LangChain, Rasa, Dialogflow, or custom LLM-based solution)
LLM Integration: Utilize GPT-4, Claude, or similar models with proper prompt engineering
API Integrations: Shopify API, Zendesk API, internal product catalog API
Response Time: Target less than 3 seconds for standard queries
Accuracy: Minimum 85% intent recognition accuracy
Security: GDPR and PCI-DSS compliant data handling

Ideal Candidate Profile
Must Have
3+ years of experience in AI/ML development, specifically conversational AI
Proven experience with LLM integration (OpenAI API, Anthropic Claude, etc.)
Strong background in NLP and intent classification
Experience with API integrations (RESTful APIs)
Portfolio of similar chatbot/AI agent projects
Proficiency in Python and relevant frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, etc.)
Nice to Have
Experience with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, WooCommerce, etc.)
Knowledge of customer support workflows and best practices
Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB)
Familiarity with prompt engineering and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)

Note: We value quality over speed. We're looking for a long-term partner who can help us iterate and improve the agent over time. There will be opportunities for ongoing maintenance and enhancement work after the initial project.
