Über
This is not a basic Expo role. We need someone who is deeply comfortable with Expo and React Native, but who also understands native iOS and Android development and can work beyond the managed workflow when necessary.
What You'll Be Working On
Building and scaling a production-grade FinTech mobile app using Expo / React Native
Integrating and collaborating with a Rails-based backend API
Developing or extending custom Expo modules when needed
Integrating native SDKs and writing native code (Swift, Kotlin, Objective-C, or Java) where appropriate
Delivering a high-performance app with buttery-smooth animations and transitions
Implementing polished UI/UX with fluid interactions and responsive layouts
Ensuring performance, reliability, and security best practices
Required Experience:
Strong production experience with Expo (EAS builds, dev clients, config plugins)
Deep understanding of React Native architecture
Experience integrating REST APIs built with Rails
Hands-on experience with native iOS and Android code
Experience creating or modifying Expo modules
Strong performance optimization skills
Proven ability to build smooth, responsive animations (Reanimated, Gesture Handler, etc.)
Nice to Have:
FinTech or financial application experience
Experience handling secure data and authentication flows
CI/CD setup for mobile apps
Experience profiling and optimizing mobile performance
