The Oracle POS Implementation Specialist will support the comprehensive build, maintenance and troubleshooting associated with the Oracle Simphony Point of Sale (POS) platform. The POS Implementation Specialist will be responsible for setting up, customizing and troubleshooting the specific business requirements of restaurant brands within Oracle Simphony. They will gather detailed requirements from store operations and management, translating their needs into functional technical designs.  

What you will do in this role:

  • Support the implementation of Oracle Simphony POS for restaurant brands transitioning to new software

  • Setting up, customizing, and configuring the Oracle POS application (including menus, pricing, discounts, and system parameters) to align with specific business requirements

  • Troubleshoot POS configuration and performance issues with a solutions-oriented mindset that betters both the guest and employee experience

  • Implement changes and maintain updates on the Oracle Simphony POS

  • Working closely with business stakeholders (restaurant operations, IT, finance) to understand business processes, requirements, and pain points, and translating them into technical solutions

  • Work in conjunction with the Project Management team on Recipe and Brand-specific projects, intended to improve the system and support techniques relating to the restaurant

  • Participating in new store rollouts, POS deployment projects, and system enhancements, adhering to project timelines and deliverables

  • Implement changes and updates submitted by the Brand teams through a Request for Change (RFC)

  • Assist the Brands with the implementation of marketing initiatives (coupons and discounts)

  • Perform changes in Oracle Point of Sale to support eCommerce, 3rd party Delivery Service Providers and inventory platforms integrations

  • Conduct thorough e-commerce testing with Brand representatives, which includes validating price, images, and menu item descriptions

  • Maintain and improve end-user interaction on the Point of Sale

  • Review and manage upcoming requests for changes and updates

  • Ensure that requests are feasible and provide alternative solutions for initiatives that may not be feasible with the current system

  • Discuss ideas and solutions for future projects and initiatives  

  • Work as the first-level escalation point for the service desk on back and front of house POS issues involving menu items, price, and print locations

  • Support the Service Desk with Restaurant Systems-related issue

What we are looking for from you:

  • Demonstrated mastery of the Oracle Simphony Enterprise Management Console (EMC), with primary responsibility for enterprise-level configuration of menu items, screen lookups (SLUs), touchscreen design, and print/KDS routing

  • Proven experience in the end-to-end management of the Simphony environment via the EMC, from initial database builds and system programming to daily troubleshooting, change management, and the seamless deployment of updates to live operations

  • Advanced configuration of complex menu item records, price changes, service charges, discounts, and combo meals

  • Maintaining interconnected records (Menu Item Definitions, Groups, and Prices) to ensure front-end display and back-end reporting are accurate

  • Expert-level proficiency in managing the Simphony hierarchy (Enterprise, Property, RVC), defining and deploying employee roles, security classes, and workstation configurations to ensure operational integrity

  • Post-secondary education in business administration or analytics

  • Oracle Certified Specialist certification is considered an asset

  • Working knowledge of Windows environments

  • Data accuracy and verification 

  • Restaurant Operations Experience is a key asset

  • Good working knowledge of Google Workspace

  • Prior experience or general knowledge with inventory systems

  • An appreciation of wider business demands

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand complex systems

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including strong verbal, written communication skills, customer service skills and excellent listening skills

  • Strong attention to detail
