Tayco is currently looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Production Manager to join our extraordinary Plant Operations Team on our Afternoon Shift. THE OPPORTUNITY:

As the Production Manager you will be responsible for the strategic direction and leadership for the manufacturing operations in pursuance of business goals. You will have the opportunity to effectively manage the development and direction of the manufacturing team to assure quality, increase productivity, drive growth, build relationships, and ensure the integration of strategic plans with company operations.

What You Will Do:

  • Oversee compliance of established policies and foster a positive Team Member relations' climate, which encourages buy-in, teamwork and full participation by Team Members across the organization.
  • Develop and implement new business strategies for creating or improving processes and procedures to improve performance
  • Champion all Health and Safety Awareness and compliance, and actively participate and the JH&S Committee. Monitor and ensure adherence to internal health and safety policies and external legislation requirements on an ongoing basis.
  • Monitor performance against goals to ensure that progress is being made, and that corrective action is taken if necessary
  • Responsible for appropriate staff levels to meet requirements of the department. Administer staffing, performance management and training and development activities in accordance with human resources policy and procedures.
  • Manage the morale in the department by setting and demonstrating a strong business ethic for dealing with Team Members, Suppliers and Customers
  • Using continuous improvement principles and practices, oversee and coordinate all support and plant operations to efficiently use materials, labour and equipment to meet sales, operational and productivity targets
  • Monitor financial performance to ensure the department is meeting or exceeding budgetary commitment
  • Analyzes and report on the daily, monthly and annual key performance indicators and industry trends
  • Update work orders with appropriate information to provide information more quickly and easily to Customer.

Hours: 3:00pm to 11:30pm

Requirements

  • Post Secondary diploma or degree in a technical field.
  • A Technologist accreditation is required, preferably in engineering or another technical discipline.
  • 5 or more years manufacturing operations experience in a leadership role with exposure to materials management, purchasing, quality, manufacturing, and support systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations and business processes. Ability to influence, mobilize and gain personal commitment and achieve results.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with implementing, managing and sustaining Continuous Improvement processes including lean enterprise
  • Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles. A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
  • Well organized, proactive and positive approach in the work place.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills

Salary: $80,000 to $90,000
