Under the responsibility of the Quality Control Supervisor, the Quality Control Technician is a key leader in establishing a food safety culture. They will be responsible for carrying out all necessary controls to ensure product safety and quality at every stage of production. They collaborate in maintaining food safety by performing all tasks and monitoring related to the HACCP / SQF program and according to customer requirements.
Role Description
Apply and ensure compliance with all HACCP and SQF system procedures. Positively promote the food safety culture and act as a role model ambassador.

Verify that product manufacturing procedures are followed accurately.
Monitor compliance of raw materials and finished products; collect samples for analysis.
Ensure compliance with product specifications and control points (production documentation, weight, labeling, shelf life, temperatures, metal detector, packaging, etc.).
Swab equipment during pre-operational inspections and during operations after mechanical interventions; perform cleaning chemical titrations.
Perform pre-operational, operational, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and other inspections.
Verify the condition of buildings, equipment, facilities, and calibration of equipment and scales.
Collaborate with other technicians, production, and other departments for follow-ups.
Detect deviations, discrepancies, and unplanned situations during production; initiate investigations and apply necessary corrective actions.
Participate in complaint investigations, validations, and product launches.
Place non-conforming products on hold and recommend their disposition.
Maintain the company's good reputation by producing safe, high-quality products according to established standards and ensuring compliance with good practices at all times.
Contribute to continuous improvement of the quality system by providing expertise and improvement suggestions through initiative and professional judgment.
Be available for overtime or vacation replacement when required.
Perform any other related tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Qualifications
Diploma in Food Technology, Dietetics, or other relevant field.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar position in food processing.
Good knowledge of ready-to-eat products is a strong asset.
Good knowledge of HACCP and SQF is an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Good knowledge of written/spoken French or written/spoken English; functional bilingualism is an asset.
