JOB OVERVIEW

The Manufacturing Project Coordinator reports to the Process and Planning Supervisor. The role focuses on the delivery and coordination of incoming & outgoing projects within the manufacturing department at KF Aerospace to support the successful management of the portfolio of projects. Project Coordinators are responsible for creating Project Packages & all associated documents (and updating them as required), supporting the Process and Planning Supervisor in the management of core project activities with an emphasis on scope, schedule, and cost management, and administering post- production package changes. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Coordination

  • Assist in all phases of Manufacturing and Shops Project Delivery, with specific focus on timelines, priority, schedule, and cost management components, at the direction of the Process and Planning Supervisor and in-line with other role specific responsibilities.
  • Create and maintain relevant tracking tools and Gantt charts throughout the course of the project to assist in project management and communication with all stakeholders.
  • Monitor project scheduling systems (M3, MS Project and JIRA) to provide visibility of resource utilisation by project and across all hangar projects
  • Maintain JIRA topical. Assign unassigned work orders daily
  • Monitor procurement of priority parts and output of internal supply and service teams and external suppliers to ensure Projects are delivered to agreed milestones and invoke standard project controls where supply does not meet these milestones.
  • Create and Maintain Risks and Issues Registers and track and manage all assigned actions. Monitor and track escalations.
  • Provide input into the development and establishment of the Governance framework for the Project.
  • Contribute to Governance forums across their Projects to ensure that both internal and external stakeholders are proactively engaged and informed.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with peer groups and key internal stakeholders, especially the Project Management team
  • Contribute to internal Project status and Executive Governance reporting.
  • Liaise with the Trade Compliance Customs Support Specialist with regards to inbound international aircraft
  • Set up project meetings, prepare, distribute & update project reports
  • Communicate with the customer and hangar team on project progress as require 
  • Liaise with engineering to ensure NCR's and Drawing changes are accurately reflected in timelines
  • Provide timely and accurate customer support as required – Field Hangar/Customer questions

Administration

  • Review necessary drawings to develop kit part management and consumable tracking tools.
  • Create materials list for relevant project tracking
  • Create and distribute necessary project status reports
  • Assist in materials management
  • Update Business Development of additional customer work requests 
  • Set up, check & update M3 package planning/bar code application
  • Set up, check & update M3 materials planning – update info to the plan but planning belongs elsewhere
  • Review previous project history
  • Update cover sheet data/forward to central planning as required
  • Monitor manufacturing non billable operations
  • Monitor post-production package changes (drawing additions)
  • Assist the Process and Planning Supervisor in the management of portfolio operations

Other/Hangar Specific

  • Review & release work Orders pre draw requirements
  • Assist with tooling requirements 
  • Review and update Process and Planning Supervisor on project progression and tasks not performed
  • Review Shops project planning schedule
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Process and Planning Supervisor. 
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and department projects  

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Strong understanding of Project management principles – CAPM certification is considered an asset
  • General knowledge of aircraft maintenance operations – ICS course completion is considered an asset
  • Proficient computer skills, specifically MS Project, JIRA, Lawson M3 and MS Excel
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work with deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
  • Customer Service focus
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Internal candidates must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in the Production Support role

SALARY

The wage band is KF Level 7, $62,000 - $77,000 annually. The expertise and technical skill level of the candidate is assessed during the selection process for placement within the band. Note: The salary range maximum signifies full job knowledge and candidates are most often placed towards the lower and mid range of the scale.
