At Team Horizon, our Landscape Maintenance teams are dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the properties our clients love—and we're looking for a Seasonal Landscape Maintenance Foreman to help lead the way.

From March through November, you'll work alongside a skilled, collaborative crew that values teamwork, growth, and a job well done. Reporting to the Maintenance Field Manager, you'll lead daily field operations while acting as a key liaison between the field team and management. Whether you're planning the day's work, mentoring your crew, or ensuring every detail meets Horizon's standards, you'll be surrounded by people who share your commitment to excellence and love for working outdoors.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead & Execute Daily Operations

  • Plan, schedule, and delegate work in collaboration with the Field Manager
  • Keep projects running smoothly, safely, and on schedule

Coach & Support Your Crew

  • Provide hands-on leadership, mentoring, and guidance
  • Support team development with coaching from the Field Manager and Director
  • Tackle challenges head-on, including problem-solving, conflict resolution, and incident reporting

Keep Equipment Running Smoothly

  • Conduct regular equipment inspections before use
  • Perform weekly maintenance and minor in-field repairs on tools and mowers
  • Communicate equipment deficiencies to management to ensure peak performance

Sharpen Your Skills — and Theirs

  • Complete training in leadership, plant identification, and watering/fertilization management
  • Share your knowledge to strengthen and elevate your team's expertise

  • Operate a loaded truck and trailer efficiently and responsibly

Champion Safety Every Day

  • Lead by example in safety practices
  • Participate in regular safety meetings (toolbox talks) and ensure proper PPE is always used

Stay Organized & On Top of Paperwork

  • Complete daily truck and trailer checklists
  • Manage weekly equipment inspections and site reports
  • Accurately submit timecards for yourself and your crew
  • Complete weekly toolbox talk documentation

We'd Love to Hear From You If You Have

Education & Certifications (Assets)

  • Secondary school completion
  • Post-secondary education in horticulture
  • Industry certifications such as Red Seal, Certified Landscape Technician, or Pesticide Applicator Certificate
  • Safety certifications including OFA Level 1 and Fall Protection

Licensing

  • A clean, valid Class 5 driver's license (required)

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of landscaping industry experience or equivalent education
  • Proven experience leading and supervising a crew
  • Comfort working in physically demanding outdoor environments

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding, hands-on role. Candidates must be able to:

  • Lift more than 50 lbs
  • Bend, crouch, twist, and stand or walk for extended periods

Work Environment

Your office is outdoors, and no two days are the same. You'll work in all weather conditions—from sunny days to rain and the occasional snowflake. Shifts are scheduled as 4 x 10-hour days, giving you a 3-day weekend every week.

This is a seasonal position running from March through November.

Dress for the weather, layer up when needed, and be ready to lead your team through whatever the day brings.
