The Opportunity

The Associate, Quality Assurance supports daily QA operations to ensure products are released in accordance with established standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality systems. This role contributes to maintaining product quality by executing key QA functions including batch release activities, documentation and label review, COA preparation, ERP updates, and supporting quality investigations and system processes. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, the Associate helps uphold Pure Sunfarms' quality and compliance standards while contributing to continuous improvement across QA operations.

What You'll Do

Batch Release & ERP Updates
  • Prepare, review, and release batches in accordance with established quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Update batch status (e.g., released, on hold, rejected) in ERP and ensure accurate communication to cross-functional teams.
  • Coordinate with Production, Planning, Order Fulfillment, and Supply Chain to support timely shipment and batch readiness.
  • Documentation, COAs & Customer Requirements
  • Review and approve COAs; prepare client-specific document packages and upload/share them through customer portals.
  • Maintain accurate QA records to support traceability, compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Labels & Electronic Systems
  • Review and approve labels, complete label linking activities, and ensure accuracy in electronic systems such as ERP and labeling platforms.
  • Quality System Support (Complaints, Deviations, CAPA, Change Control)
  • Assist with complaint management, including data gathering, documentation, and follow-up actions.
  • Support deviation and CAPA processes, including investigation support, corrective action tracking, and timely closure.
  • Assist with Change Control implementation and documentation updates as required.
  • SOPs, Training & Self-Inspections
  • Support SOP development, revision, approval workflows, and implementation activities.
  • Assist with training management, ensuring required training is completed and documented.
  • Participate in self-inspections and communicate observed non-conformances to stakeholders.
  • Compliance & Continuous Improvement
  • Uphold quality and compliance standards in all assigned tasks to ensure alignment with GPP/GMP and internal requirements.
  • Provide input to continuous improvement activities, including maintaining accurate QA records, supporting KPI reporting, and identifying opportunities to strengthen quality processes.
  • OTHER DUTIES

Our plants and processes require in-person care and attention to ensure we're bringing the best our plants and people have to offer to our consumers. This means other duties may arise since we work together to support all business activities – seed to sale.

    WORK STATUS

    This is an on-site role, working in or supporting operations and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams across the business.

    What You Bring

    Your Education & Experience
  • Bachelor of Science, or relevant degree in the biological, food, biochemical, or chemical sciences.
  • Minimum 2 years QA or QC experience in regulated manufacturing (food, pharma, cannabis, or equivalent).
  • Your Knowledge & Skills
  • Working knowledge of the Cannabis Act & Regulations, GPP/GMP guidelines, and general GxP systems and principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with ERP and electronic QMS platforms.
  • Effective communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.
