Job Summary
The Corporate Labor Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing labor planning, labor utilization, and labor performance across all greenhouse operations in Canada and the U.S. Working closely with the Corporate Growing Operations Team, General Managers, Growers, Assistant Growers, Labor Supervisors, and Greenhouse Supervisors, the Corporate Labor Manager ensures that labor performance and metrics are aligned, scalable, and consistently executed across all locations. This role drives best practices, continuous improvement initiatives, and labor-cost innovation while supporting operational excellence.
Duties And Responsibilities
Lead and oversee labor planning, deployment, and resource utilization across all greenhouse locations, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness.
Design, review, and optimize daily and weekly labor plans in alignment with crop plans, harvest schedules, and packhouse operations.
Compare labor plans and productivity metrics across locations to identify gaps, best practices, and opportunities for improvement.
Ensure labor plans support on-time harvesting, packing, and shipment of product while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Monitor, analyze, and report on labor performance metrics, productivity trends, and labor input costs across all locations.
Drive the use of standardized labor metrics and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.
Participate in weekly KPI meetings and provide insights and recommendations to the Growing Operations leadership team.
Leverage labor data to identify inefficiencies and lead corrective actions and improvement initiatives.
Develop, document, and implement standardized labor processes and best practices across all greenhouse operations.
Ensure consistent execution of labor practices across locations through audits, site visits, and follow-up action plans.
Partner with site leadership to ensure labor processes align with operational goals and performance expectations.
Identify and implement innovative approaches to labor planning and utilization to improve productivity and reduce costs.
Work collaboratively with General Managers, Growers, Assistant Growers, Labor Supervisors, and Greenhouse Supervisors to align labor plans with operational needs.
Serve as a subject matter expert for labor optimization and process improvement within greenhouse operations.
Support workflow optimization by reviewing processes, observing control points and equipment utilization, and recommending operational improvements.
Own and drive Priva labor tracking, reporting, and data integrity across all greenhouse locations.
Ensure consistent use of labor tracking systems and accurate reporting standards.
Train and support site teams on labor tracking tools and data interpretation to improve decision-making.
Lead labor-related continuous improvement initiatives across all locations.
Review current labor methods and workflows and implement improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Develop and maintain labor-related reporting procedures and performance monitoring systems.
Track improvement outcomes and ensure sustained adoption of new practices.
Provide oversight and operational direction to LMIA Administrators responsible for managing the LMIA process for Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) in Canada.
Provides strategic oversight and alignment of seasonal labor planning activities across Canada and the US, ensuring common standards for workforce timing, arrivals, departures, and renewal planning for the TFW and H2A Programs.
Align labor demand forecasting with LMIA planning in collaboration with Operations and Human Resources.
Monitor process timelines, capacity, and effectiveness to ensure operational labor needs are supported.
Travel regularly to greenhouse locations to assess labor practices, support implementation of standardized processes, and drive continuous improvement.
Build strong working relationships with site leadership teams to support adoption and sustainability of labor best practices.
Ensure labor processes support compliance with applicable health and safety standards, food safety requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and hygiene protocols.
Support operational audits and corrective actions related to labor processes and standards adherence.

Requirements And Skills
Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Agriculture, Business, or a related field, or equivalent operational experience.
5+ years of experience in labor planning, workforce optimization, or operations management in greenhouse, agriculture, manufacturing, or other labor-intensive environments.
Demonstrated experience managing or influencing labor strategies across multiple locations, with responsibility for labor planning, productivity analysis, and process standardization.
Demonstrated commitment to high professional and ethical standards, with strong judgment and sound decision-making capabilities.
Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments, with strong attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
Exceptional analytical and organizational skills; results-driven with a proven ability to prioritize workload, manage competing demands, and deliver measurable outcomes.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with strong numeracy and the ability to clearly convey data-driven insights.
Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with experience using Priva or comparable greenhouse labor tracking and climate control systems.
Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Health and Safety standards, Food Safety requirements, HACCP principles, and the PrimusGFS program, with the ability to ensure operational processes support compliance.
Working Conditions
This job operates in a hot, high humidity environment where temperatures average 90 degrees Fahrenheit, but may increase to approximately 100 degrees Fahrenheit in the summertime. The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery and forklift truck operation.
Role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Specific vision capabilities required; employee is to occasionally work in front of a computer, sitting for prolong periods.
The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; bend; twist; use hands to handle or feel product or packaging; and reach with hands and arms.
Regularly work at heights up to 15 feet using a platform or scissor lift.
The position may involve walking and lifting, up to 30-pounds, occasionally up to 50-pounds.
Maintain a valid passport, as travel will be required.
This position offers a salary range of $80,000 – $95,000 CAD, with final compensation varying based on experience, skills, internal equity, and location. In addition, Pure Flavor offers a competitive total rewards package, including company-paid benefits, RRSP matching, and paid time off.
