Über
We are building a social media MVP and are preparing for launch.
Multiple developers have worked on the project and the platform is currently unstable. We are not looking for feature development at this stage.
We are looking for a senior engineer to conduct a structured codebase audit and deliver a written technical assessment outlining:
- Current state of the system
- Root causes of instability
- Technical debt risks
- Launch readiness gaps
- A prioritised stabilisation plan
- Prioritise voice and video
This is a short, focused engagement to help us understand exactly where we stand before moving into a launch sprint.
Scope of Work
You will:
- Review the full codebase (frontend + backend)
- Review infrastructure and deployment setup
- Run the application locally and/or in staging
- Inspect logs and identify recurring errors
- Identify architectural risks or anti-patterns
- Produce a structured written report
Deliverables (Required)
A clear written document (not just comments in Slack/Upwork) that includes:
1. System Overview
Stack summary
- Architecture diagram (high level)
- Environment setup review
- Deployment pipeline review
2. Stability Findings
- Top technical risks
- Reproducible bugs
3. Prioritised Bug & Debt Register
Each issue should include:
- Severity (Blocker / High / Medium / Low)
- Impact on launch
- Suspected root cause
- Recommended fix approach
- Estimated effort level
(POTENTIAL FOR DEVELOPER TO CONTINUE WORKING ON THE PRODUCT)
Contract duration of 1 to 3 months. with 30 hours per week.
Mandatory skills: API Integration, React, Full-Stack Development, Database Architecture, Software Debugging
